Amazon Alexa Illustration System

Working with the Alexa Devices team, we developed an illustration style guide to serve as a road map for visual content creation across their global marketing ecosystem. We landed on a style that feels unique to Alexa’s brand, yet remains flexible enough to scale across any device, in any region.

Complete with a library of grids, proportional guides and color palettes, the style guide arms illustrators with the necessary tools to build and stage scenes with characters, props, and environments whether they start with existing assets or create them from scratch.  

Building scene objects on the grid system involves starting with basic geometry, then introducing angles, and finalizing with stroke details.

We curated 10 color schemes designed to be interchangeable in scenes to covey a variety of moods and tones.

Alexa Shopping Video

 Thankfully our work on the style guide led to another Amazon collaboration giving us the opportunity to road test our system and bring the illustrations to life in a fully animated spot promoting Alexa’s shopping list capabilities.
